bothversions ==Description== Troop Transport Bays are used to transport ground forces, so that they can be moved between your own colonies, invade enemy colonies, or engage in boarding actions against other ships. ==C# Variants== There are four categories of troop transport bay in C# - conventional, standard, boarding, and drop. The latter three categories come in multiple sizes, but all of these sizes are researched by a single technology. * Conventional bays are inefficient, but researched at the start of the game even on a conventional start. * Standard bays are the most cost-efficient choice, and they are researched at the start of the game on a Trans-Newtonian start. The tech costs 1,000 RP in a conventional start. * Boarding bays are required to make inter-ship boarding attacks. The tech costs 2,500 RP. * Drop bays are mostly used for ground invasions, as they unload instantly. The tech costs 2,500 RP. All troop transport bays are commercial components, and require the minerals Duranium, Neutronium, and Mercassium to build. {| border="1" class="wikitable sortable" style="text-align: center" |+ Troop Transport Bays ! However they are civilian components, unlike the drop modules. The base Load/unload time is 10 days for any number brigade-sized troop transport modules. This number can be reduced by cargo handling systems (the load time is divided by 5 times the number of cargo handling systems) by commercial spaceports (load time divided by spaceport level + 1), and by the logistical value of the ship's task force and commander, as well as the governor at the colony where loading or unloading is taking place. See the Summary Table on the Ground forces page for unit sizes. Unlike installations, ground forces cannot be split into smaller segments for ease of transport. Also see Combat Drop Module. {| border="1" class="wikitable" style="text-align: center" |+ Troop Transport Bay ! Size !!Battalion!! Company |- ! Size | 50 || 10 |- !
