Description
[edit]Cargo Holds can transport minerals, facilities and components.
The base Load/Unload Time is 500,000 seconds (roughly 5 days, 19 hours) per standard cargo bay in C#, or 50 hours per standard cargo bay in VB6. This is multiplied by the actual cargo capacity, so a C# ship with one large cargo bay (5x the size of a standard one) would have a base unload time that's five times longer, or 2,500,000 seconds.
This number can be reduced by Cargo Handling Systems(VB6)/Cargo Shuttle Bays(C#) (the load time is divided by the cargo handling multiplier), by commercial Spaceports and Cargo Shuttle Stations (load time divided by combined level + 1), by the Logistics skill of the ship's Naval Admin Command(C#)/Task Force(VB6) and commander, and by the Logistics skill of the governor at the colony where loading or unloading is taking place.
In C#, the load/unload time of a ship is displayed on the Class Design window, near the top right, as "Load Time". The time is shown as days:hours:minutes, so 5:18:53 would be 5 days, 18 hours, and 53 minutes.
Usage
[edit]Most planetary installations, such as factories, mines, etc., weigh 25,000 tons, and some go up to 1,000,000 tons. However, they can be disassembled into smaller parts as needed, with those smaller parts getting transported separately.
Note that one point of minerals weighs two tons, not one.
